I have enjoyed making pet portraits for friends, friends of friends, and family members for about 5 years. It all started with this portrait of my family's rescue chihuahua, Tootsie. The drawing of Tootsie was intentionally made to capture her "dark tendencies", which I found to most amusing.
Tootsie passed not long after I created the drawing but she still hangs up in my parent's foyer with her collar and ashes. She continues to oversee the house and scare away unwanted visitors.
It is my hope that my pet portraits I create for others capture their beloved family member and can be a timeless tribute to their life. Whether the pet has a long life ahead of them or have passed on, these creations last forever as a unique way to honor your best friend.
